Avery Moore

Overview

Avery is an Associate in the firm’s Representations & Warranties Insurance (RWI) Group.  He focuses on post-closing disputes stemming from M&A transactions, where he analyzes and advises on RWI claims, insurance coverage positions, underlying legal, accounting and compliance issues tied to the insured’s M&A transaction, and advises insurer clients on strategy for matters that often turn on complex accounting and regulatory questions.

Prior to joining Bailey Cavalieri, Avery spent nearly six years at a Big Four firm in several consulting roles across International Tax, Financial-Services Risk, and Regulatory Compliance, where he:

  • Structured and audited cross-border transactions, transfer-pricing arrangements, and tax-efficient reorganizations, gaining a detailed grasp of purchase-price allocations, working-capital mechanics, and tax-indemnity exposures.
  • Led risk reviews of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and other bank-risk engagements, building expertise in financial-statement analysis, consent-order remediation, and regulatory response strategy.
  • Mapped end-to-end processes and advised on digital-transformation projects, evaluating legal, regulatory, and reputational risks (LRRs) and designing controls to mitigate them.

Avery’s hybrid background in law, risk, and financial compliance enables him to assess complex RWI claims involving inventory and working-capital adjustments, latent tax liabilities, and compliance breaches with a strategic grasp of underlying finance and operations.
