Attorneys Dan A. Bailey and Matthew T. Schaeffer served as presenters at the 2026 Bankruptcy Bench Bar Conference, a leading triennial program convening bankruptcy judges, trustees, and practitioners from across the Southern District of Ohio and surrounding regions.
Dan was a panelist on a program addressing directors’ and officers’ liability insurance issues in bankruptcy, alongside The Hon. Douglas L. Lutz, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Their discussion focused on insurance issues, fiduciary duties, litigation risks, and practical considerations for counsel and parties navigating D&O liability in Chapter 11 cases.
Matt participated as a panelist on the Chapter 7 Trustee Panel, joining other experienced trustees to address current issues and best practices in Chapter 7 administration. The panel examined recent procedural developments and practical approaches to case administration affecting both trustees and practitioners.
In addition, Rob Berner of Bailey Cavalieri served on the conference’s planning committee. Together, their involvement underscores the firm’s continued engagement with the bankruptcy bench and bar and its depth of experience at the intersection of insolvency and D&O liability insurance matters.
